Day 9: Max Power Transfer

Max Power Transfer

Here we were asked to graph the Power function which has an linear component multiplied by a parabolic component. By graphing this, we found the max power curve.
We learned that in order to get max power transfer, we need to let the load resistance equal the thevenin resistance, as shown by the derivation below.


We were given the task to find the max power given 3 motors with given specs. We first had to find the internal resistance, then 




Here we made a table of P vs. R... Just kidding, see the next graph


Here we made a rational curve fit for the data we had. The numerator order was set to 1, the denominator order was set to 2. We got a very nice looking fit line. The equation is below.
