Day 23: AC Op amps and Oscillators

AC Op amps and Oscillators


Today, the class seemed very tired, myself included. I was quite distracted and class seemed really, really long. I had a hard time comprehending a lot of what was happening today.

Much of this was the same as before. We solved this AC Op amp circuit with nodal analysis, just as we did with DC.
We used this equation in order to find the average power of an AC Circuit.

The prelab for this lab was to find an R such that we can obtain an angular frequency of 864. This number was the last 3 digits of Andrew's Student ID. In order to do this, we set R_1 and R_2 to the same value, that way Beta becomes 1/2.
The circuit we hooked up. We used resistors of 1000Ω. There were no resistors close to 526Ω as we calculated so we used 2 1kΩ in parallel to equal 500Ω. It made the circuit a little messier, but it worked out just fine.


After troubleshooting our circuit (I had hooked some components up incorrectly), we were able to obtain this square wave oscillator graph.
